THE COALITION IS OPEN TO ANY GROUP WHO:
HAS A NORDIC BASE: Is primarily based in a Nordic country or territory – defined as Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Sápmi, or Kalaallit Nunaat.
SUPPORT THE INTERSECTIONAL ANALYSIS / CLIMATE JUSTICE: The membership group must support and actively work towards the coalition’s purpose of exposing the Nordic countries’ climate injustice and demanding alternative systems that prioritize a just transition.
RECOGNIZE DIVERSITY IN TOOLS: The membership group accepts that NCJC’s theory of change is plural and diverse, and recognizes that the coalition uses many different strategies and tools for creating change – as long as all methods remain non-violent.
RESPECTS YOUTH-POWER: The membership group acknowledges that NCJC is a youth-led coalition, and accepts that young people hold priority and decision-making power within the coalition’s decision-making spaces.
(Groups that are not youth-led or not primarily focused on building youth power may still join as supporting members (tier 2). )
VALUES CARE: The membership group commits to our zero-tolerance policy towards racism, homophobia, sexism, ableism, transphobia, fatphobia, and all other discriminatory behavior, and strives to practice decolonial, caring, and inclusive ways of working.
