WHO CAN JOIN?
Nordic climate justice grassroots based in a Nordic country or territory – defined as Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Sápmi, or Kalaallit Nunaat
Groups supporting intersectional analyses of climate justice exposing Nordic countries’ climate injustice as a tactic to demanding just systemic transitions.
Groups recognizing and actively engaging with diverse strategies and tools, accepting NCJC’s pluriversal (non-violent) theory of change.
Groups respecting and valuing youth-power, conforming to youth-prioritised mandates in decision-making processes in the context of NCJC.
(Non-youth-led groups or groups not primarily focused on building youth power may join as tier 2.
We advise groups in both tier 1 and 2 to delegate a “young” representative.)
Groups valuing care, committing to NCJC’s zero-tolerance policy towards racism, homophobia, sexism, ableism, transphobia, fatphobia, (and all other discriminatory behaviour), striving to practice pluriversality and push for decoloniality.

Membership in the NCJC
For a group to become a member of the coalition, a membership application must be submitted to the coordination group. The coordination group processes the applications, decides to approve or dismiss, and gets back to the group. It is the responsibility of the coordination group to assure that the body that sends the application has the mandate to do so.
The application must state if the group wants to be a tier 1 or tier 2 member:
Tier 1
All of the tier 2 things
Can vote at annual meetings
Must send at least 2 representatives to the annual meeting
Required to contribute actively to coalition work, with at least one person participating in a working group. Contributions should reflect the group’s size and capacity.
Must designate one contact person to maintain regular communication with the coordination group and coordinate resource sharing.
Can request coalition funds for actions/events organized as part of NCJC.
Can apply for external grants on behalf of the coalition and retain up to 80% of the funds (subject to coordination group approval).

Can ask the coalition or other members to co-sign letters, share posts, cross-post, and support joint messaging.
Are invited to the coalition’s key actions, conferences, and other events.
Can request help from other members with actions, campaigns, skill-sharing, resource-sharing, and events.
The board looks over members quarterly.
If a tier 1 member hasn’t fulfilled their requirements in 3 months they become a tier 2 member instead.
